Kaumarbhritya / Balrog
Kaumarbhritya is the subject taught in the final year B.A.M.S. Professional Degree course. This is the important basic clinical subject of Ayurveda. It is one of the eight branches (Ashtang) of Ayurved.Kaumarbhritya” a word derived from two words i.e. “Kaumara” means children and “Bhritya” means to ‘take-care of’.Balrog is the department with well established OPD and IPD. Ayurveda recommends some special treatment for curing some typical diseases of children. Panchkarma will Vamana, Virechana, Pichu, Shirodhara, Pind Sweda, Snehana are provided to infrants, kids and children. Mentally retarded children are provided with such type of treatment. Our Acharyas believed that care given during this age group is the backbone of their whole life that is why the facts and Clinical knowledge contained in those texts is gaining popularity day by day
General and special activities of the Department
- Department participates in various Health checkup camps organized by Institution.
- Department conducts clinical presentations and discussions regularly.
- We have separate pediatric IPD ward for admitting the critical patients and their panchakarma procedure.
- Every month on the pushanakshatra department organizes a swarnaprashan camp for children.
- Department is having daily Paediatric ward and Neonatal ward rounds taken by Medical Officers and Honorary Paediatricians
